About Jessica Padilla

As an attorney with a wealth of experience serving on both sides of the courtroom, Jessica Padilla has the perspective and foresight Harris County needs in a judge.

The daughter of a police detective, Jessica was raised with a keen understanding of service and started her career at the Harris County District Attorney’s office. Serving as a prosecutor for six years, Jessica understands the challenges facing our judicial system. She worked her way up through the ranks of the district attorney’s office, has resolved thousands of cases – from thefts and DWIs to child abuse and murder – and spent a decade in private practice, working tirelessly for her clients. For the past two years, she has served with the Harris County Drug Court program, working to help addicts achieve sobriety and saving families. In addition to drug court, she also works for the new Harris County Reintegration Docket, implementing therapeutic treatment options for non-violent, low-level drug and prostitution cases with the goal of reducing recidivism, saving taxpayers’ money.

She is active in her church and children’s parochial school, having served on the Total Board of Education as President, Chair of the School Finance Committee, Chair of the School Strategic Planning Committee as well as PTO President, Vice President and Treasurer. Additionally, she serves as a member of the Altar Guild.
